Q. How comes the ish project?

Was founded back in 2005 after the dissolution of my first band, devoted to an irregular spoken word of noise music.
After that experience has remained a curiosity to see what could be get working file and squaring music. I bought an acoustic bass, composed the music of the skeleton and the collaboration of musician friends, arranged and recorded the material the first demo.

Q. What means ish?

It comes from the mad desire to not give a name to the project but to provide it of a sort of ideogram with which identify … using the letters I S H (acronym of “the time of the dream” in Latin “) to compose an image …
… That of a winding road that leads to the foot of the three towers.
Over time the name / no name has become SIGN.

Q. What’s your genre?

How much more open in relation to the atmosphere to communicate in support
texts.
I would say that the most immediate identification is “post rock” but I see the music of the sing  open in all directions. Being a One Man Band the style is subordinated to my technical limits beyond which to my taste.

Q. The music in general is more specifically yours has a hidden meaning and exoteric?

If you mean to occult images from which flow the lyrics: those are in my head, and by definition inaccessible to others.
Any reference to a initiatory traditions have taken place only in operation their poetic power rather than for their content. I could tell you communicating a sense of otherness that I think should be cultivated as one of the few guarantees of balance compared to the big circus of failure it shakes around.

q.Your sound inspires peace, but also progressive evolution, how about Fripp?

Prog hope to have the aptitude for experimentation and cross not that to afflict my listeners with masses free sing or huge valtzeroni backbeat.
A pinch of attitude to Fripp will be out from collaborations on some of tracks on the disc in terms of texturings and solo guitar arrangements.

Q. When will be released the complete album?

Realistically will see the light in September.

D.Come nasce il progetto ish ?

Nasce nel lontano 2005 dopo lo scioglimento della mia prima band, dedita ad un irregolare spoken word su musica noise. Finita quell’esperienza è rimasta la curiosità di vedere cosa si poteva
ottenere lavorando di lima e mettendo in quadratura le musiche.
Ho acquistato un basso acustico, composto lo scheletro delle musiche e con la collaborazione di amici musicisti, arrangiato e registrato il materiale del primo demo.

D.Cosa significa ish?

Deriva dal folle desiderio di non dare un nome al progetto ma di fornirlo di una sorta di ideogramma col quale identificarlo… utilizzando le lettere I S H ( acronimo del “l’ora del sogno” in latino”) per comporre un’immagine…
…quella di una strada tortuosa che conduce ai piedi di tre torri.
Col tempo il nome/non nome è diventato IL SEGNO.

D.Vuoi definire il vostro genere ?

Quanto di più aperto in relazione alle atmosfere da comunicare a supporto
dei testi. Direi che l’identificazione più immediata sia “post rock” ma vedo la musica
del SEGNO aperta in ogni direzione. Essendo un One Man Band il genere è subordinato ai miei limiti tecnici oltre che al mio gusto.

D.La musica in genere è più in particolare la vostra ha un significato occulto eD
esoterico?

Se per occulto intendi le immagini dalle quali scaturiscono i testi si: quelle sono nella mia testa e per definizione inaccessibili ad altri.I riferimenti a tradizioni iniziatiche particolari si sono avuti solo in funzione della loro forza poetica piuttosto che per il loro contenuto. Potrei dirti la comunicazione di un senso di alterità che penso vada coltivato come una delle poche garanzie di equilibrio rispetto al grande circo del fallimento che ci si agita attorno.

D.Il vostro suono ispira pace ,ma anche evoluzioni prog, a fripp come stiamo ?

Del prog spero di avere l’attitudine alla sperimentazione e alla contaminazione non quella ad affliggere chi mi ascolta con gratuite messe cantate o immani valtzeroni in controtempo.
Un pizzico di attitudine alla Fripp trasparirà dalle collaborazioni su alcuni dei brani del disco in termini di testurizzazioni e arrangiamenti di chitarra solista.

D.Quando uscirà il disco completo ?

Realisticamente vedrà la luce in settembre.

D.Progetti futuri oltre al disco ?

Organizzare i collaboratori giusti per mettere in piedi la live band per alcuni concerti scelti per rodare il nuovo materiale e un’idea abbozzata per un EP.
Intanto facciamo un passo alla volta.
